Yifan Gu
Piano
Dr. Gu was born in China in 1997, studied piano under Professor Hao Sizhen. She attended the School of Music at Soochow University of Science and Technology for her undergraduate studies, studying under Professor Wang Aiguo. She pursued graduate studies at the Longy School of Music of Bard College in the United States, studying under the internationally renowned pianist Andrius Zlabys, and received a substantial scholarship during her time there. In September 2022, she began her doctoral studies at Claremont Graduate University in the United States, receiving a significant scholarship and studying under the world-famous pianist Jenny Soonjin Kim.
In 2018, she participated in the Jiangsu Satellite TV Charity Concert in Nanjing, China. In May 2019, she held a solo recital at the School of Music of Soochow University of Science and Technology, and completed her second solo concert in Boston, USA, in 2022.

Throughout her career in piano, she have received guidance and high praise from many international masters such as Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Meng-Chieh Liu, Claar ter Horst, Andra Vermesy, and Mark Taratushkin.

2015: Second Prize in the College Students Professional Group at the 2nd National Yamaha Piano Competition (Suzhou Region)
2016: Second Prize in the Youth Group at the International Piano Festival - "Talented Pianist" Competition
2017: Second Prize in the Youth Group at the Vittoso & Barkantu International Piano Competition in Italy.
